ACCESS TO TAKAMATSU BY AIR
- ANA (All Nippon Airways) and JAS (Japan Air System) connect
Tokyo International Airport[Haneda](for domestic flights and international
flights from Taiwan only) with Takamatsu airport
in about 1 hour, 8 flights daily. There is no direct connection
between New Tokyo International Airport[Narita](for all of other
international flights) and Takamatsu.
There are several routes between Narita airport and Haneda airport:
the most convenient way may be the direct limousine bus
service (75min travel dependent on traffic, approx. 3000yen,
every 20 to 40 minutes) or the direct train
(110min, 1560 yen, 4 trains daily).
If you don't mind transferring once in downtown Tokyo(Aoto station),
many trains are available. More information are shown at
Keisei Railway Co, Ltd.
You can also take Rapid train(KAISOKU AIRPORT NARITA)
operated by JR East to Shinagawa station
(approx. 1 hour 40 min, 2000 yen)
and change to Keisei railway for Haneda airport(approx 20 min. 400 yen).
- From Osaka Kansai International Airport,
ANK (Air Nippon : subsidiary of ANA) has 2 flights to Takamatsu daily.
- There are also scheduled flights to Takamatsu from
Fukuoka(3 flights daily), Nagoya(one flight daily), Sapporo(one flight daily),
Sendai(one flight daily),
Okinawa(one flight daily) and
Seoul Korea(3 times a week).

ACCESS TO DOWNTOWN FROM THE AIRPORT
Direct limousine bus
service connects between Takamatsu airport and the city center.
Buses leave about 15 minutes after arrival of each flights,
40min travel dependent on traffic, approx. 800yen.
It stops at RITSURIN park, KENCHO DORI
(near KAWARAMACHI transportation center),
and JR Takamatsu station.
If you take a taxi from the airport, approx 3000yen to JR Takamatsu station
and 4000yen to conference venue.
ACCESS TO TAKAMATSU BY RAIL
Japan Railways (JR) connects Takamatsu with Okayama
which is a main station of Shinkansen(Bullet train).
You can take "Marine Liner" rapid train service
between Okayama and Takamatsu every 30 minutes.
This train crosses Seto inland sea (Setonaikai) through
Seto Ohashi Bridge and, if the weather is fine, you may enjoy
a beautiful view out of the train window.
To reach Okayama Station, there are several ways:
- From Tokyo Station: take Shinkansen HIKARI or NOZOMI
bound for Okayama, Hiroshima or Hakata. (approx. 3 1/2 hours.)
- From Tokyo Narita Airport: take NARITA Airport Express train to
Tokyo Station (approx. 1 hour) then
change to Shinkansen HIKARI or NOZOMI.
- From Osaka Kansai Airport(KIX): take HARUKA Airport Express train to
Shin-Osaka Station (approx. 50 min) then change HIKARI or NOZOMI
(aprrox. 1 hour).
- Last train from KIX to Takamatsu:
The last train from KIX to Takamatsu and the first train
from Takamatsu to KIX are as follows. The cost is arrox. from
10000 Yen to 11000 Yen. The price depend on which train you use
and whether you reserve a seat or not.
- First train from Takamatsu to KIX:
Takamatsu 5:38 --> Okayama 6:37 Marine Liner (Rapid)
Okayama 7:05 --> Shin-Osaka 7:52 Nozomi
(Super Bullet Train , sheet reservation is required)
Shin-Osaka 8:18 --> JR KIX station 9:21 Haruka (Express)
ACCESS TO SYMPOSIUM VENUE:
From JR Takamatsu station, you may take TAXI or
may use KOTODEN railway service. In the case of KOTODEN:
- walk to KOTODEN Takamatsu-Chikko station
(a couple minutes from JR Takamatsu station)
- take any train (every 5 to 20min service)
- transfer at Kawaramachi station (2nd. stop) to Shido Line
(every 20 to 30min service)
- get off at Katamoto station
(5th. stop, CAUTION: NO English sign at this station. Chinese characters
are shown below).
The symposium venue is just 5min walk from Katamoto station.
Train fee is about 300 yen.
From hotels in downtown, you will walk to
the nearest Kotoden station then take a train for KAWARAMACHI.
Taxi costs approx. 1500 yen to the conference venue.
